Description: Korin is proud to announce the newest addition to our coveted collection of knives. Available exclusively at Korin, these knives have all of the great qualities characteristic of the Masamoto yanagi and sport distinctive exotic hardwood handles. A must-have for the serious collector, the beautiful and unique wooden handles are a stunning complement to the fine craftsmanship of their hongasumi blades.

Zebrawood has an unmistakable appearance, with its dramatic, high contrast grain making it popular for instruments and high-end furniture. Valued for its high-shine appearance when polished, this heavy and hard wood is found in the hot and rainy climates of Gabon, Nigeria, and Cameroon.

Featuring the legendary sharpness of shiro-ko (white) steel, the yanagi is used to slice boneless fish fillets for sushi and sashimi. The yanagi originated in the Kansai (Osaka) region, its graceful, thin blade cutting beautiful clean slices with a single elegant, drawing stroke.
