Description
Our Oribe Green Donabe 6.75" is a stovetop-safe clay pot made in traditional Japanese fashion, with a dark green finish, a twisted handle on the cover, and a stark white bottom. This pot is perfect for hot preparations that require an elegant vessel in which to retain, eat, and showcase your meal.
Purpose: Stovetop safe and used to serve hot foods and liquids.
How to Cook White Rice
1. Rinse rice grains thoroughly until the water runs clear, then transfer rice into the donabe.
2. Add the corresponding amount of water noted in the chart above
3. Place lid on the donabe and cook at high heat
4. When water vapors/steam begins to bubble over, change flame to low heat
5. Keep over low heat flame for 4-5 minutes
6. Turn flame off and allow the rice to continue steaming for 10-20 minutes. Do not remove the lid while steaming.
*Hot pot and other stews can also be made in this earthenware pot
*Never use the pot to deep fry
*Never leave food in the pot overnight or for long periods for time
