History of Tsugaru Vidro

Floating buoys made of handblown glass once played an important role in longline fishing. As the demand for glass buoys fell in favor of plastics, Japanese glass craftsmen shifted to producing decorative and dinner wares. The colorful handblown glassware known as Tsugaru Vidro is now a designated traditional craft of Japan.
