  • A Message from the Founder of Korin

Dear Valued Customers,

The unimaginable has happened over the course of just one month; major metropolises have come to a complete halt, and we are all keeping social distance in an age defined by communication and information. During these times of economic and emotional hardship, I sincerely hope that you’re maintaining your health and are with loved ones. We will get through this crisis as we have many times before, and continue to persevere.

The hospitality industry has been at the heart of everything we do at Korin Inc, and cultural connection through culinary is my passion. The health and wellbeing of our customers and team has always been our utmost priority.

The Korin showroom is temporarily closed as mandated by NY state, but our online shop is taking orders and shipping out twice a week. Korin's Customer Service Specialists are working from home, and still available over-the-phone and through online live chat to offer the best possible service as we strive for every time. While there will be some delays, we are diligently working to provide the most effective products in the most convenient and safest way.

We have put together a list of helpful links for small businesses, restaurant owners and employees. COVID-19 has been devastating to all businesses, but have hit the hospitality industry especially hard. We hope you find some sense of relief that there is help out there and you are not alone.

The US Chamber of Commerce’s Small Business Loan

The Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act allocated $350 billion to help small businesses keep workers employed amid the pandemic and economic downturn. Known as the Paycheck Protection Program, the initiative provides 100% federally guaranteed loans to small businesses. Importantly, these loans may be forgiven if borrowers maintain their payrolls during the crisis or restore their payrolls afterward.

Final Care’s Act

The CARES Act builds on the two former pieces of legislation by providing more robust support to both individuals and businesses, including changes to tax policy. The bill includes expanded unemployment insurance (UI) for workers, $350 billion allocated for the Paycheck Protection Program to help small businesses (fewer than 500 employees), and Recovery Rebate for individual taxpayers.

SupportRestaurants.org Dining Bonds Initiative

Due to the impact that the coronavirus COVID-19 has had on the restaurant community, a collective of restaurant industry professionals have set a global initiative in motion to get funds into the hands of restaurants NOW, even if they are temporarily closed. A Dining Bond works like a savings bond, where you can purchase a "bond" at a value rate to be redeemed for face value at a future date.
