Kumiko is an ancient Japanese lattice woodwork technique that originated during the Asuka period (600-700 AD). Similar to Japan’s famous carpentry, Kumiko is made by meticulously fitting cedar wood pieces together using grooves, corners, and slits. Delicate traditional motifs are intricately assembled without the use of nails or bonding agents. This unpretentious art form is the epitome of minimalist interior design, and can be found gently embellishing classic Japanese architecture such as temples and castles.

The design features the Mitsukude pattern overall base with goma, kasane rindo, and sakura patterns made out of Akita cedar wood.

Do not submerge in water to clean. If dirtied, use a wet towel to gently clean. Do not scrub, use detergents, or store wet.
